Are you an aspiring independent author? Spotify's wants to buy your short-form audiobook

Spotify wants to make it easier than ever for audiobook authors to have their work heard. The audio-streaming platform has a new website for independent authors to submit short-form books.
If Spotify likes what you send, it will publish the audiobook, pay you an advance and royalties, manage book production, and distribute it to major audiobook retailers.

Want to take a shot at submitting a book? Here's what you need to know.
First, the book must be a romance, mystery/thriller, or sci-fi/fantasy story of around 10,000 to 20,000 words, written specifically for audio. This focus means a well-written story that sounds good out loud -- think sharp characters, atmospheric settings, and engaging spoken dialogue.

Cross-genre works like romantasy, dark romance thriller, mystery sci-fi, or psychological thriller are encouraged. Erotica or children's content will not be accepted.
When you're ready, visit the submission page.
Spotify said this is a global program open to any English language short-form story author who controls audio rights for their story. Every submission will be considered on a rotating basis.

The form will ask some details about your book, including your publication history (how many books have you published in the past), your sales history, and your marketing strategy for your current books.
Spotify stressed the importance of filling out this form in as much detail as possible if you want your book to stand out. The company said it wants to publish great books, but also wants to work with great authors.

Spotify will handle the audiobook side of things, but authors can publish their book in other digital or paper formats.
If you'd rather publish your audiobook on Spotify, you can upload your audio through the Findaway Voices page.
